Handle With Care (HWC) is a program that works to enhance communication between law enforcement, schools, and mental health professionals in order to provide early identification and intervention, if needed, to students who experience trauma and/or loss.

There are four modules designed to build upon each other. The following are minimum recommendations for each discipline. Please check with your school district or organization regarding course requirements. Please note, you will have access to all of the modules if you wish to complete them.

  • Law Enforcement (community-based):
    • Module 1
  • Campus-based staff (i.e. teachers, paraprofessionals, nurses, administrators, SROs) and mental health professionals (i.e. campus counselors, social workers, etc.):
    • Modules 1-4
  • Non-instructional staff (i.e. transportation, food and nutrition services, facilities management, etc.):
    • Modules 1, 2, & 3
  • Community-based partners:
    • Modules 1-4

Please note, if you have previously completed all of the modules and are re-taking the training again, you will need to re-register using the buttons below.
